A Tail of Woe
Donation protected
Just in time for Christmas, my 17-year-old cat, Momo, developed an infection in his anal gland, which turned into an abscess and burst. About $600 in vet costs and lost wages later, he's sent home full of antibiotics with a cleaned out wound and a tube of ointment.
Unfortunately, about a week and half later, the abscess still hasn't fully healed; he's also developed a new lump under his tail, which is likely another pocket of infection. I have an appointment for him Monday, but these two visits add up to more than my monthly rent, and that's not financially feasible.
Momo requires sedation for all vet visits, which is part of what increases costs. He is elderly and traveling the 10 minutes it takes us to get there is incredibly taxing on his body, so he has to be medicated beforehand also.
Every little bit helps. Please share this as widely as possible.
