A Surprise Gift for Jesse Markus

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!

First thing's first: SHUUUUSH!

Very kindly, don't breathe a word of this to Jesse, loves.

The intention of this fundraiser is to be a surprise Christmas present from all of us.

Now that that's out of the way, my name is Haleigh and like many of you in the improv community, I like Jesse Markus and value his work, both on and off stage.

Jesse's been doing improv since 2008, teaching since 2013, is a self-taught musician (the ukulele is his favorite), and is a loving dog dad to his rescue-boy, Bozer.

Jesse has been an integral member of the Wasatch Improv Festival in Utah since its conception in 2018, helping to bring improvisors of all sorts from around the country onto one stage to perform.

Locally, Jesse also helps run the Bellingham Improv Festival in Washington and is currently teaching a musical improv class.

And, of course, he performs.

You likely know him best as half of Murder Fairy Arson Leprechaun; the wild, yet intelligent duo that puts control of their scenes into the audiences' hands. Jesse Markus and Michael Haycock have been going strong since 2017.

The boy's been working hard for a long time and therefore, deserves a mask.

Specifically, this mask. A ventriloquist mask.

These masks are a fun device to use to make a person on stage say whatever you want.

It's fun. It's strange. It's Jesse.

I spoke with him recently about these masks and he said that he and Michael had wanted one for their show, but the price was too high to justify the spending.

So, I went online, did some research, and between the lot of us, it's easily doable.
