Hi everyone,

We’re all Christians drum students here, and I wanted to share an idea that’s totally optional—no pressure at all to join in.

Our teacher is one of the kindest and most patient people I’ve had the pleasure of learning from. As one of his seasoned students (and a bit of a nosey one, lol), I know this is his only job. He doesn’t get paid time off like folks in traditional companies, and he’s dealt with some personal family issues recently that meant taking time away from work.

His birthday is coming up on June 24th, and through our chats about travel (I travel a lot, so we talk about it often), I’ve learned that one of his dreams is to visit Japan or fly first class—just once—somewhere in his lifetime to anyplace.

So here’s an idea I'm proposing: If anyone feels moved to, I thought we could chip in toward an Expedia gift card as a surprise birthday gift. This would be a sweet gesture to help make one of his dreams a little more reachable. Again—completely optional, and please don’t feel bad if you can’t or prefer not to participate.

We’ll also have a digital group card to sign and write a message for anyone who contributes, and I’ll share when I plan to present the gift card to him.
