السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

In the village Subk al-Ahad — the home of the noble Shaykh Muhammad Sa’eed Raslan حفظه الله — there lives a young man whose story is as humbling as it is inspiring. His name is Dhul Qarnain, I have personally lived with him and spent nearly a month with him. a devoted student of knowledge from Guinea, West Africa, who left behind his family, his homeland, and all that was familiar to him in order to pursue the blessed path of learning the religion of Allah.

I have been able to witness his sincerity with my own eyes. In the stillness of the last part of the night, when most people are asleep, I have seen him rise to pray and recite Qur’an. During lessons, he sits close to the Shaykh, attentive and eager, rarely distracted. His life is one of discipline and humility — eating little, speaking only when necessary, and spending nearly every moment studying and revising. He has little to no online presence or worldly recognition, yet his love for the scholars is deep and unwavering.

But behind this quiet strength lies a struggle. There have been times when he lived on less than £10 a month — barely enough for food. He has gone without books he desperately needed for his studies because buying them would mean going hungry. Imagine the dedication it takes to endure such hardship for the sake of knowledge.

Now, our brother’s needs have become urgent. He has been separated from his parents for over two years he last saw them and spoke to them when he was dropped off at the airport by them in Guinea, losing contact with them completely. His heart aches to reunite with them, to relocate them to a better place. He also wishes to marry — something deeply important for him at this stage in life — and to begin a small trade (tijārah) to support himself and his family with dignity without having to rely on others.

This is more than just a fundraiser. This is an opportunity to lift the burden from the shoulders of a young man whose life is devoted to the deen, a chance to attain so much reward.

Every contribution, no matter how small, is a step toward reuniting a son with his parents, enabling a marriage, and preserving the noble pursuit of sacred knowledge.

Donate generously and ask Allah سبحانه و تعالى to accept it from us and from you.
we must strive to help those less fortunate than us, travelling to seek ʿilm really opens one’s eyes and allows you to see on a first hand how much of a struggle some students of knowledge are going through.
And I was given the opportunity to meet our brother Dhul Qarnain. الحمد لله
