A struggling single mum & her girls
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Amanda, Annie, Bec, Jo, Julie, Leanne and Sarah.
We're fundraising for the loveliest woman we know, Rachel, a single mum of 2 teenage girls. When her daughters were very young, Rachel split from her partner after a turbulent and traumatic relationship. She has always been a hardworking and nurturing mum who has provided for her girls on a limited income, with minimal support from the girls' father, and yet she has always managed to provide. Recently, she has experienced a significant increase in pressure that has led to severe anxiety and debilitating depression.
The cumulative effect of a previously damaging relationship, financial stress, the sharp rise in the cost of living, isolation from her family (who are in the UK) and a destructive work environment has meant that she has required intensive treatment in a hospital setting and has been unable to maintain her work.
The catalyst for this happened just before Christmas when Rachel was given notice to move out of her rented accommodation. In approximately 2 weeks' time, she and her girls are going to find themselves homeless despite all our best efforts to try and obtain a suitable home. We have applied for numerous rentals but each time she gets turned down. This is a situation Rach never imagined she'd be facing but with crippling depression and few alternatives, it is now becoming a frightening reality.
This is where our fundraising comes in. We are trying to support Rachel and her beautiful girls; we hope to raise funds so she can pay some pressing bills, cover the moving costs and find new accommodation and essentially ease the financial burden that has overwhelmed her.
We all hope we'll never find ourselves in this situation. And it's so hard to ask for help. But if you know what it's like for life to be too hard, if you know what it's like to feel alone and need a village, we would love you to help Rachel find her way back to hope by donating to this fund.
