I am reaching out today to share the story of Mrs. Asmita Gurung, someone incredibly dear to me. We grew up together, studied in the same school, and she has always been like an older sister to me—kind, supportive, and full of warmth.

A few months ago, Asmita’s life changed in an instant. What began as a medical emergency involving her appendix quickly turned into a devastating crisis. Her appendix ruptured before treatment could be provided, causing severe internal infection and numbness in the lower part of her body. She has been fighting this overwhelming condition ever since.

In just one month, her family has spent more than 1.5 million Nepalese rupees on medical care. Despite their best efforts, the financial burden has become unbearable. Asmita is now physically exhausted and financially drained, yet she continues to fight with every ounce of strength she has.

But she cannot do this alone.

Asmita is a loving mother of two young children who are waiting to see their mother smile, walk, and play with them again—just like she used to.
