Dear brothers and sisters, this Ramadan, I am raising funds to support orphans, single mothers, single fathers, and those in need.

I lost my father at a young age. I watched my mother take on the unimaginable burden of raising us alone, carrying the weight of responsibility on her shoulders. I saw the struggle in her eyes, the silent prayers she whispered at night. She did everything that she could for us with the support of her family.

And this year, I felt that pain all over again when I lost my brother. He left children behind—but, Alhamdulillah, they are surrounded by love and support. But what about the mothers who don’t have that? What about the families with no safety net, no one to turn to? How would it feel for a mother who has lost her husband and now faces the impossible task of providing for her children alone? How does she tell them there won’t be food on the table? That Eid will be just another day of struggle?

But we can change that.

For the past few years, I’ve been gathering with friends to give back during Ramadan—to make sure families in need don’t feel forgotten. A meal, a small act of kindness, a donation—it can turn despair into hope, struggle into relief. And this year, I want to do more. I want all of us to do more.

Imagine the joy of a child waking up on Eid, feeling seen, loved, and cared for because of you. Imagine the relief of a mother knowing that, even in her hardest moments, she is not alone.

This is what your Sadaqah can do.

Ramadan is about more than fasting—it’s about compassion, about lifting others as we seek Allah’s mercy. Let’s come together and give back. Let’s make this Ramadan count.
