Dear friends, chosen family, and beloved community
I’m writing to you today with an open heart, in a moment where hope and urgency walk hand in hand. As many of you know, I’ve been navigating the complex and costly journey of adjusting my immigration status in the United States. I am asking for your support to help cover the legal fees I need in order to continue this process and remain in Southern California—the place I now call home.
I left my country for many reasons—reasons that are both open wounds and seeds of life. I left because of systemic violence, and the insecurity faced by those of us who defend human rights, land, and the dignity of life. I also left out of love—with a deep desire to build a home where I could breathe without fear, heal old wounds, and continue learning alongside the plants, the collective wisdom, and the communities in resistance rooted in this land.
Migration has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, and also one of the most life-affirming. Still, arriving in Southern California has not meant safety. Here, I’ve faced new forms of harassment, racism, discrimination, and precarity—simply for being a migrant, for speaking another language, for the color of my skin, for not fitting into dominant narratives.
And yet, I’ve found fertile ground here. In California, I’m building a new home—a home I share with my four beloved cats and the chosen family we’re weaving together day by day. This place has allowed me to dream again, to care, and to be cared for. Despite the challenges, I continue to believe in care, in community, and in the possibility of belonging with dignity.
Legal support is essential for my immigration process to move forward—and to protect everything we’re lovingly building here. But these services are expensive, and I don’t have access to the kinds of financial safety nets that many people take for granted. That’s why I’m turning to you.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference. This isn’t just about money—it’s an act of solidarity, a concrete gesture of accompaniment, a powerful affirmation that migration is a right, and that we all deserve to live without fear, with dignity, and with a real sense of belonging.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, for donating if you can, and for walking with me during this important moment. If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this campaign is also a generous and impactful way to support.
With love, gratitude, and hope.
