Hi, this is the family of Diana Freyta. Our beloved sister Diana just found out the news that she has a cancerous brain tumor. She did not know she had this health condition for years. She went for a routine eye exam in early November and they referred her to neurology due their findings of eye-swelling. The only symptoms she was having prior to the eye exam was trouble with her memory but she had no idea it was this severe. After meeting with the neurologist several weeks later, they scheduled an emergency MRI at Denver Health and the next day she came back for the scan to find out devastating news that she has a brain tumor the size of an onion on her temporal lobe and needed emergency brain surgery, right away. Diana’s life is forever changed. Within 3 days of her MRI, she was scheduled for emergency brain surgery with Dr. Fabio Grassia at Denver Health. She is the strongest person we know and was chosen for this miracle. She is a living, walking, talking, and singing miracle. We are so thankful for the care she received at Denver Health. But she is still in recovery and has has a long journey ahead of her with radiation and chemotherapy. And she may need to go through brain surgery again. She is a single mother of two boys, Teddy and Dominic. She lost her job in the last year and hasn’t been able to attain employment for months due to her memory and the tumor, which of course, she didn’t know about, all this time.
