Hello everyone

As many of you know, our wonderful son Bertie recently went through craniotomy surgery to remove a large and rare tumour. Unfortunately they were unable to remove it all so he will need close monitoring to see if it grows/spreads. Bertie currently has numbness in his face and unfortunately still has no sight in his eye which is what drew us to believing something was wrong. The tumour was so big it had damaged his optic nerve . It’s been such a tough journey for him (and for us as his family), but through it all he has shown incredible courage, strength, and that big Bertie smile we all love so much.

Over the past few weeks, friends and family have been so kind in asking us if there’s a way they can do something special for him. After so many people suggested it, we thought setting up this page might be a lovely idea.

This isn’t about medical bills or expenses – this fundraiser is simply a way for those who’ve asked to contribute towards something really special just for Bertie. We want to be able to surprise him with a gift or experience that he’ll treasure, as a way of saying, “You did it – you were so brave!”

We don’t know exactly what that “something special” will be yet – whether it’s a dream day trip, a toy he’s been wishing for, or an adventure that makes his heart light up – but we want it to be all about him, after everything he’s faced.

We’re so grateful for the love, support, and prayers we’ve received during this journey. Bertie is one very lucky boy to be surrounded by such kindness.
