A special need for Vonnie

Donation protected
My name is Sarah. I’m a nurse practitioner, and I had the pleasure to work with Saunda as our nurse at Minute Clinic for two years. From day one, it was very clear that Saunda was an incredibly hard worker. You would be hard pressed to find a more genuine, faithful, kind, generous, positive, funny, and uplifting person. Over those two years, Saunda has made friendships with everyone who has the pleasure to come her way, and was well liked by every person she met. Saunda has never thought twice about working two jobs to provide for her three children, and she has done it all with a smile.
Sweet Vonnie is Saunda’s 13 year old nonverbal, wheelchair bound, special needs daughter. Eight months ago, Vonnie had such severe anemia that she needed to be hospitalized for a week and receive multiple blood transfusions. Ever since then, Vonnie’s health has never completely recovered, and Saunda has been fighting to determine what was wrong. After continuing deterioration of Vonnie’s health to include double pneumonia, it became clear that Saunda had to quit her job that she loved at Minute Clinic to care for and focus on her daughter’s health with several rounds of intensive therapy. On her third trip into the ER Friday 07/01, Saunda received devastating news that Vonnie not only had severe heart failure, but her liver and kidney function were decreased, and she needed to be admitted to the ICU. Vonnie has undergone multiple tests, has 7 different IV drip medications infusing, and now has a team of many specialists that are working hard to stabilize her and get her well enough to return home. They have told Saunda that Vonnie will need to be in the ICU for at least another week at a minimum. Saunda has been at Vonnie’s bedside around the clock to ensure that she doesn’t accidentally dislodge any of the tubes or monitors, or fall out of bed. Unfortunately, this means that she has not been able to work the night shift job that she was planning to continue to provide income for her family, and she currently has no income. Saunda would never ask anything of anyone, but she needs help to keep her family afloat during this extremely difficult time. Any funds raised will go directly to any bills, food, transportation, and childcare needs for her 11 year old twin boys. Thank you very much for any help that you can provide, and for any thoughts and prayers that you send her way! You will never find a more appreciative or grateful recipient!
