Title: Su's Every Morning Song Campaign
"Hurt so bad
More than I expected that it would
Worse than that
It seems to be lasting just a little
Longer than it should
It's alright
If you finally stop caring
Just don't go and tell someone that does
'Cause even though I know there's hope in
Every morning song
I have to find that melody alone
I have to sing the melody alone"
-Avett Brothers
If you know my sister, Suze, she has been a community, family, and educational advocate for many years unnoticed, unseen and without complaint. She is the first one to give help and the last one to ask for it. What you may not know is that this is the song she sings alone every day because of her pain and her loss.
Sixteen years ago, Su was diagnosed with Lupus (a hyperimmune disease where your own immune system attacks your own body). After her own body had attacked multiple babies, she finally carried one into the 3rd term; however, she lost that battle too. Her baby boy, Abraham, fell victim and with a heavy heart she laid him to rest in San Antonio, TX. Since then, she has experienced multiple Lupus attacks which result in severe pain, hair loss, body sores and much more. After also losing her spleen to the disease, her body has now targeted her reproductive system again, bringing the pain of her child loss full circle. After eight weeks of heavy bleeding and being severely anemic, she is having a hysterectomy.
The procedure is set for November 23rd. Due to the disease, the healing process will take much longer than normal and unfortunately, she has already exhausted her personal time off. She is currently on FMLA leave, unable to work and unable to receive pay. The constant medical costs she must pay to receive treatment, medications and now surgery, add an incredible amount of stress to an already leaning tower. Any funds received here would help them through this incredibly difficult time.
If you can help in any way or even share this post, we would greatly appreciate this gesture.
Once again, she does not need to sing that melody alone. Please help us build the music around her and give her the symphony she deserves. We hope that you can help her in her time of need.
Thank you, and God bless!
