A song for Our Lady of Guadalupe
Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Heather Jansma. I am a Roman Catholic musician (singer/songwriter) residing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I am a member of Christ the King Parish, singing in the worship band at Sunday Mass and other liturgies. I often provide music for conferences, retreats, healing Masses, and gatherings in Atlantic Canada like: the Magnificat Prayer Breakfast, Grace Ministries for Women, The Atlantic Marian Gathering, and Sacred Heart Evangelization and Healing Ministry. It's been a dream of mine to write and record Christian music.
Last year, I wrote "Virgin Guadalupe" for Grace Ministries for Women because their patroness is Our Lady of Guadalupe and most of the gatherings they have are held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. During January and February of 2024, I am raising funds to record this song.
"Virgin Guadalupe" is a conversation between St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe that occurred between December 9th and 12th on Tepeyac Hill, which is now a suburb of Mexico City. It is the Virgin Mary's motherly message to all of us that she, is present and available to us and that we should not be afraid or discouraged. As she assures Juan Diego of her love and compassion for him, she is assuring us, as well.
God the Father has given us Mary, Our Mother, at this particular time in history as a messenger, advocate, and helper. He has given her tremendous graces which we need only ask her for. It is my wish to spread the message of her graces, love and care for us, her children, and to encourage devotion to Mary's Immaculate Heart which is so closely united with and points to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
I have hired a producer in Halifax, NS (Ross Billard) to help me hire musicians, arrange the music, and record the song so that it is broadcast ready. My goal is to raise $3000.00 to cover the costs of studio time, studio musicians, mixing and mastering the song. I have also hired a musician to help me produce sheet music, so that other Catholic musicians may be able to play this song in their parts of the world.
Will you help me achieve my goal of properly recording this song and honouring Our Lady?
God bless.
