Hello, my name is Paulo (Martin as some of you may know me from work), and I am reaching out with a humble heart to ask for help for my mom, Dorothy.
Our family has been battling cancer for over a year now. What began as a benign tumor that was removed from her bladder slowly returned in a more aggressive form. Despite surgeries and intravesical treatments, we recently received devastating news - her cancer has progressed to Stage IV-B bladder cancer, an advanced and aggressive stage that has spread beyond the bladder. Hearing those words changed our lives overnight.
Dorothy is not just a mother — she is the heart of our family. She once worked in healthcare as a Medical Technologist, but when my brother and I were young, she made the selfless decision to give up her career so she could raise us full-time. She poured her love, time, and strength into our family without ever asking for anything in return.
She loves gardening — tending to her plants, nurturing life with patience and hope. That’s who she is: someone who grows and gives life wherever she can. She has always been the one caring for others. Now, she is the one who needs care.
My mom is currently undergoing treatment in the Philippines. The expenses for chemotherapy, medications, hospital stays, laboratory tests, imaging scans, and supportive care is overwhelming. While we are doing everything we can as a family, the financial burden continues to grow as her treatment becomes more intensive.
We are raising funds to help cover:
• Chemotherapy and cancer treatment
• Hospital admissions and procedures
• Medications and pain management
• Laboratory tests and CT scans
• Immunotherapy
• Future possibility of cystectomy
Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly towards my mom's treatment and care. If you are unable to give, sharing this page would mean just as much to us.
My mom dedicated her life to caring for others and raising our family. Today, we are asking for help so she can continue her fight.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
Paulo (Martin) & Family
