At the age of 30, after hearing many times that my dizziness and nausea was just anxiety, I didn’t give it much thought when on May 1st of 2022 I couldn’t keep my balance while changing the brakes to my car.
My warning sign was the next day when I could not stand up at all. At first, at the ER, they found just signs of dehydration and gave me an IV with medication, and thought I was good to go home.
Two days later, it progressively got worse. Not having insurance and terrified of having to go back to the hospital because I couldn’t afford it, I finally decided to go back to the emergency room to be seen.
After a CT scan and an MRI, they found the lesions on my brain that would ultimately lead to the Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. After a $14.8k quote on a set of MRIs, I went back to Romania to consult with a neurologist and could have the access needed to affordable healthcare.
The Romanian doctor recommended that the best bet was HSCT (Stem Cells Therapy). I looked all around for quotes and found 30,000€ in either Serbia or Switzerland, including the 14 – 30 days of hospitalization.
For many people, a diagnosis like Multiple Sclerosis is final, but myself and many others can have a fighting chance if this treatment could be afforded. Whether this treatment can cure or give relief, your dollar can give me one chance to live a manageable life while continuing getting the medication.
As Anne Frank quoted, “No one has ever become poor from giving." I believe that any amount you can give will become God's channel of blessing to you and your family.
Thank you so much and anticipating for your kind hearts.
