Marakolliya School in Tangalle, Sri Lanka has fewer than 100 students. Most students come from less privileged homes, or they are orphans living in the children's home nearby. The school was built by my mother's paternal grandfather (in 1938) to further the education of children in the village. My mother has and continues to help this school. Due to the lower student numbers, the school receives little funding from the government. The buildings have aged and need urgent repair. The students and teachers need educational resources (such as books, calculators, computers and trade tools) to help them achieve better learning outcomes. The students also need a small sports field and sporting equipment for their physical development. I am a registered educator in NSW, Australia and I fully support this school. Your generous support would make a world of difference to the lives and future of these less privileged children with glowing humanity at heart.
