Help our collective Surf Ghana to build "Skate Gal Club", the first skateboarding club in Accra.
The main idea is to create, inspire and empower Women in Ghana.
But for us, it is more than skateboarding. It’s happiness, a lifestyle, culture, wellness, togetherness, changing the narrative and also impacting an entire generation.
We aspire to create a generation of women skateboarders around the nation.
We hope to see women showcased in the same light as men and also receive the same recognitions.
We don’t just skateboard. We are filmakers, journalist, nurses, students, teachers, artist, entrepreneurs and much more!! We are everything!! You! yes you! are our super hero today and tomorrow and the day after!
We are here to inspire, educate, support, encourage, groom, give women a voice, empower and defy the stereotypes through sports.
We are determined to provide a support system that does not already exist and most importantly, create a safe net for women of all backgrounds, sizes and color.
"Girls, Women, this is our time!
There is no limitations, we are fighters!
We can do this!
Let’s create a path and leave a legacy! "
What about the Skate Gal Club ?
We plan to teach a group of 30 women how to skate in Accra every week.
We plan a event per month to inspire and empower women.
Our club is going to consist of multiple activities such as skateboarding lessons, painting, poetry, yoga, dance, spoken words, creative and educational workshops that improve the lives of young women.

We need 10 000 euros
> We wish to provide skateboards and protective gears for every member.
> We have to provide a safe and secured place for women to pratice skateboarding. In Accra, most of the places "skateable" are private and rare at the moment. We dream about a small DIY skatepark.
> We wish to plan an event/month
> We plan also to rent photography and film equipment to document our club and to be able to share with the world what a great sport skateboarding is for women.

About Surf Ghana
For the past 3 years, Surf Ghana which is a non-profit organisation has worked hard to develop and grow skateboarding in Ghana. We have a community of 5000 followers on instagram!
We have provided skateboards and taught more than 2000 people across the nation.
We are so excited to expand our collective with the launch of Skate Gal Club.
As a collective, we work together towards a common goal, which is: The progression of every single member.
We also think that women who play sports have higher levels of confidence, self esteem and psychological well being.
The future of sport in Africa will not be complete without women inclusion !
