Praying for a Miracle

My 10-year-old son and I are facing an urgent crisis. Due to financial hardships, we must be out of our home by June 30th, but I don’t have the resources to cover moving costs, secure storage, or ensure a stable transition.

As some may know, life hasn’t gone as I’ve attempted to plan. I’ve encountered many financial setbacks, including scams, mistakes, theft, etc., that have kept me from being able to stay financially stable. I am doing everything I can to find a way forward for my son and me, but I am now forced to make heartbreaking decisions.

One of the hardest is rehoming our beloved cats. These gentle, loving animals, ranging in age from 1 to 5 years old, need safe and caring homes since we will be technically “homeless.”

While we are able to spend some nights with my sister, this is only a temporary solution, and we still need support as we navigate this unknown territory. My car may have to become a place of rest from time to time for me, but the air conditioning does not work due to issues with the repair in 2023.

As we prepare to move, we are struggling with several urgent expenses, including:

- A U-Haul or other moving costs to transport our belongings safely before the deadline

- A storage unit to keep our possessions secure while we figure out the next steps

- Basic living expenses to help us navigate this difficult transition and help my sister with groceries while we stay there. And for gas if I have to stay in my car. My first priority is making sure my son has a roof over his head other than a vehicle.

- Rehoming our furbabies

I know I’ve made many financial mistakes in the past, but I’m trying to make it right and make sure my son is taken care of. 

Thankfully, I will be starting a new job that will help me rebuild financially, but it will take time to receive a paycheck and to save enough for a place to live that is within my affordability.
