My name is Martha, I’m a single mother from Chicago and I’m working hard to start a senior transportation business because I believe our seniors deserve reliable, compassionate care — and I want to be part of that solution.

As a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, my life has been a path marked by pain, resilience, and unwavering determination. Every day brings new challenges, from healing past wounds to providing stability and love for my children. Despite the weight I carry, I’m taking a leap of faith to start a small business not just to build a better future for us, but to reclaim my voice and independence. This journey is not easy, but I’m learning to rise, create, and thrive on my own.

My journey has been anything but easy. After my husband was deported, I found myself living in a shelter with my children, fighting every day to keep us safe and hopeful. When we finally got our place. I enrolled at the Illinois Small Business Development Center, and after being coached through my own business model and market analysis, I founded MJV Services Transportation LLC, and have been building relationships with clients ever since. At this point I need $5000 to renew my licensing and complete vehicle maintenance.
