Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Peace and blessings be upon you all.
I never thought I would have to write something like this, but life has truly tested me in every possible way. I am a single mother of four small children, and recently I was diagnosed with a malignant lump in my neck that urgently requires surgery.
The NHS have been kind and supportive, but they explained that there is a very long waiting list for this type of surgery, and that if I am able to do it sooner privately I should. Sadly, the cost of private surgery in the UK is far beyond my reach.
After much research, prayer, and advice, I found that I can receive the same life saving surgery in Greece, where the total cost including hospitalisation, aftercare, and recovery would be far more affordable and available almost immediately.
Why Greece?
Specialist clinics in Greece and Spain have an excellent reputation for oncology and ENT surgery, and the cost there is around £10,000–£11,000, compared with more than £25,000 privately in the UK.
Choosing Greece means I can have the surgery within weeks instead of months and years, and recover in a safe, supported environment. It would allow me to return home to my children much sooner stronger, healthier, and In shaa Allah, lump-free.
Our Home Situation
Recently, my landlord who has been nothing but kind sold his property we live in and asked us to move out. This was months in the making but we had nowhere to go so he kindly allowed us to stay until the sale went through. After weeks of worry, Alhamdulillah (Thanks to Allah), we have finally been offered a new home we can move into within the next two weeks.
To secure it, we need £2,200 for the first month’s rent and deposit. This home will give my children the stable, safe environment they deserve, and it will also allow me to plan my travels quickly and soon for surgery without the stress and delays and drug related risk of staying in temporary accommodation or unsafe hostels.
Having a secure home before leaving for treatment means my children can remain settled, cared for, and surrounded by familiarity while I recover.
My Work, Studies, and Hope
When I’m healthy, I volunteer as a McKenzie Friend and Lay Advocate, helping people in court who want to represent themselves without legal representation. By Allah’s mercy, all seven people I’ve supported have won their cases.
Recently, I was offered a place on the Justice course at Harvard University completely all costs coveded by the university, an incredible honour and reflection of my love for learning and justice. I was also offered a local position as a lawyer’s assistant, something I was truly excited about finally a step into the legal field I’ve worked toward for years.
Although I’ve had to pause these opportunities for now, I am determined to return to my studies, my work, and caring for my children, In shaa Allah, as soon as I recover. I know that brighter days are ahead.
The Costs
Surgery and hospital care in Greece: £10,500
Flights, accommodation, and recovery: £2,300
Food and medication during recovery: £800
Childcare, essentials, nappies, milk, and bills: £2,900
First month’s rent and deposit for our new home: £2,200
And anything extra will go towards moving costs. Van and Man etc.
I’m facing two urgent battles a fight for my health and a race to secure a home for my children. Balancing surgery preparation, childcare, and relocation has been overwhelming, but I believe Allah never burdens a soul beyond what it can bear.
With Allahs help, I can receive the treatment I need, recover safely inshAllah, and give my children the stability they need to feel safe and secure.
My Promise and Intention
I am not someone who gives up or forgets kindness. I fully intend once I am well and working to repay or give back to anyone who helps us during this time. I have good future prospects in both employment and education, and I want to honour every bit of support that allows me to rebuild our lives.
Your generosity now will not only help me recover, but it will become part of the barakah (blessing) I pass forward through my work, studies, and advocacy for others, In shaa Allah.
Every single donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to recovery and stability for my children.
If you can’t donate, please make dua for us and share our story, you never know whose heart it may reach.
Your kindness will not only fund life-saving surgery, but also help secure a home and future for four small children who depend only on their mum.
May Allah reward you, protect your loved ones, and multiply every good deed you do.
From me and my four little ones thank you for believing in us, for standing by us, and for helping me fight for our future.
JazakAllahu Khairan (May Allah reward you with all the goodness). In this life and the hereafter.
