As a single mom, I have worked hard over the years to provide the best possible life I could for my five kids. Now, I am in the fight of my life—not just against terminal cancer, but to keep a roof over our head.

Last year, I was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Doctors found a tumor extending from the base of my spine down to my right thigh. The tumor compressed my sciatic nerve, causing excruciating pain and loss of feeling in my foot.

For the past six months, I have endured intensive, 10-hour-a-day chemotherapy sessions and recently underwent major surgery to remove a 6.5 lb tumor. After surgery, I regained some feeling in my legs and toes, and for a moment, I believed the worst was over.

But then my final biopsy results came back.

The cancer was resistant to chemotherapy. My oncologists told me I have a 90% chance of recurrence, and I will be starting a new regimen which will involve even more aggressive chemo along with radiation to buy me more time.

Why I Desperately Need Your Help

Since my diagnosis, I have been completely unable to work. Cancer has taken my strength, my mobility, and my ability to provide for my family. I now rely on a walker to get around and require a nurse to visit my home twice a week, along with in-home physical therapist to regain basic movement and strength. The simple act of caring for my children has become a daily struggle.

On top of fighting for my life, I am now on the verge of losing our home.

Greenwood Lake has been our safe place, where my children have grown up, gone to school, and built friendships. It’s also just an hour from Memorial Sloan Kettering, one of the best cancer hospitals, where I receive my treatment. More than anything, I want to give my children stability—to keep them in their home, in school, and surrounded by their friends and support system.

They have already spent the last year watching their mother fight for her life. Losing our home and having to move would be devastating for them.
