Help A Single Mom Buy a Safe Home & Rebuild Independence

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sydney, and I’m a single mom doing my best to rebuild a safe, stable life for my 4-year-old daughter, Bryn, after leaving an unsafe situation.

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for her entire life, and for years I was completely financially dependent on her dad. When I left, I had to start from nothing — no savings, no support system, and no safety net — just the determination to give my daughter the safe and steady life she deserves.

I never thought I’d be starting over like this — working hard every day, raising my daughter alone, and trying to hold everything together on one income. But after everything that’s happened, I’m determined to give Bryn the peaceful, secure home she deserves.

Right now, our home is close to foreclosure, and my car loan is still in my ex’s name. There’s about $16,000 left, and if he loses his job or stops paying, I could lose the only reliable transportation I have for work and taking Bryn where she needs to go.

I’ve been doing my best to keep things steady. Bryn’s dad still helps cover a few basic bills for now, but with his job being uncertain and legal issues ongoing, I’m working toward full financial independence — getting the car in my name, keeping a safe roof over our heads, and creating a life that no longer depends on someone who’s caused harm.

I currently don’t have daycare assistance, so I rely on family to help watch Bryn while I work. That limits the hours I can take on, but I still work as much as possible to cover our expenses and keep things consistent for her.

My goal now is to create real, lasting stability — to buy a small, affordable mobile home outright so we always have a safe place to live, and to get the car fully in my name so our independence isn’t at risk anymore.

On top of everything else, the government shutdown means there may be no food stamps in November, which will set us back even more. I’ve been carefully budgeting every dollar, but with rising costs and this sudden loss of support, I’m terrified of falling behind right before winter. I’m doing everything I can — working, saving, cutting expenses — but it’s just not enough alone anymore.

How the $10,000 will help:
• $8,000–$10,000 toward purchasing a safe, affordable mobile home for Bryn and me so we have a permanent place that’s fully ours
• $2,000 toward refinancing or transferring the car loan into my name to keep reliable transportation for work and Bryn’s needs

If we’re able to raise more than the initial goal, any additional funds will go toward setup costs (lot rent, utilities, small repairs) and creating a small emergency cushion to keep us secure long term.

I’m fighting every day to give Bryn the stable, happy childhood she deserves. Every dollar — even $5 — truly helps us take another step toward safety and independence. And if you can’t donate, sharing our story means the world to us.

Thank you for believing in a mom who’s doing everything she can to rebuild and give her little girl the peace and stability she deserves.

With love,
Sydney & Bryn
