A Show of Love and Support
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Ivana and I’m a mom. Last season when I was volunteering as an assistant coach for my son’s pre-K soccer team I met a little boy named Brise. He likes to play soccer, eat ice cream, and play outside just like my son. Brise loves his mommy Lilli, daddy Bernard and one-year old sister Ava.
Recently I learned that Brise’s dad Bernard was diagnosed with stage IV sarcoma six months ago. Having had an uncle of mine pass away from cancer I can almost imagine what Brise’s family is going through.
Regarding Bernard’s treatment plan: there really isn’t one. Since Bernard was getting weaker before his diagnosis, he was laid off work and now has no insurance (other than Harris County Hospital Assistance program card) and no means to pursue any alternate treatment. His medication regiment is set up by the doctors at Ben Taub. The meds help him manage the pain. Because they could no longer pay their rent, Brise’s family moved in with his grandparents. Lilli works full time plus takes care of her family.
My hope in starting this Go Fund Me page is to share Bernard’s story. If you want to help them spend quality time together, help with medication, or help with whatever they might need, even a small contribution will make a difference. If we all pitch in and show our love and support, no matter the amount collected, this family will see that the community cares. If you can’t help with funds, please share this page and join me in praying for a miracle.
Sincerely,
Ivana Ivancic Galic
