Rachel Diprose is a true Castlemaine local who has been cutting and styling the hair of this town’s finest for years. Her husband also grew up here, and the two were high school friends and later, sweethearts. Together, they’ve raised two young children and built a simple, family-focused life, with Rachel at the heart of the household.
As a sole trader and the family’s main income earner, things are often tight—but right now, they’ve never been harder. Last week, Rachel suffered a fall and broke her shoulder, leaving her unable to work while she recovers. In an instant, their financial safety net has vanished.
We’re calling on the community—clients, friends, family, school parents, and anyone with a few spare dollars—to help support this young family through the next weeks until Rachel can get back on her feet (and back behind the scissors).
Whether it’s the cost of a haircut, a couple of taxi fares (Rachel is also the only driver in the family), a few bags of groceries, or a contribution to household bills—every bit will make a difference, and will be received with deep gratitude.
Rachel would never ask for help herself, but for decades she has been the one listening to us—our highs, our lows—while helping us feel good about ourselves in her chair. Now, it’s our turn to show her how much she means to this community.
Please donate if you can, and if you can’t, please share.
