We are Ben and Marco, two aspiring film makers based in London, we're trying to bring to life a true story of hostage taking, bomb making, and revenge.

Synopsis: Based on a true story

"In a quiet town in volatile N Ireland, Damien, a man in his 40s, is haunted by a traumatic childhood event—A violent IRA hostage situation that tore his family apart. After years of searching, he finally tracks down Brendan, one of the masked men responsible, now living a life of redemption as a devoted priest.

Driven by a mix of anger and a desperate need for closure, Damien arrives at Brendan's church, unannounced and filled with unresolved pain. As the two confront their shared past, the tension escalates, revealing the complex web of guilt, remorse, and the possibility of forgiveness."

Set in the years preceding the turbulent troubles of N.I. in the late 90s, this short film gives the audience a tense and taut insight into the complexities of the times, when neighbours could be terrorists and loose lips sank more than ships.

Why this Story Matters?

Forgiveness is a powerful exploration of the human side of the Northern Ireland conflict, a story of betrayal, revenge, and the search for meaning in the midst of violence. The film doesn’t just focus on politics—it dives deep into the personal, emotional journeys of individuals caught in a larger, destructive movement. It’s a story about ordinary people who made extraordinary choices, and about the consequences those choices had on their lives, their families, and their communities.

Our Goal

Our final goal is to produce a limited TV series that explores all the main characters and their reasons to join the cause/IRA. But for that we first want to shoot a high quality short film/sizzler as a taster that helps us to fund and launch this series. The short film would be based on a scene extracted from the series script which we believe can also work as a separate piece.

Funding

We require this funding to pay for the locations which are vital for the story and the cast and crew involved. The locations have been already chosen and we have an idea of the cost. The following locations are essential for the gravitas of the story:

We estimate we would need an approximate of £800 to cover the location cost. We aim to offer a fair rate to our Cast and Crew for what we believe it would be a three day shoot. For that we need a £4000 to cover salaries and equipment. And lastly £200 would be designated to diets and transport, and other miscellaneous needs.

Ben is an actor / comic from Northern Ireland. He has performed in most major comedy venues from Edinburgh to LA’s Comedy Store.

"En un tranquilo pueblo de la volátil Irlanda del Norte, Damien, un hombre de 40 y tantos, está atormentado por un evento traumático de su infancia: una violenta situación de rehenes perpetrada por la IRA que destruyó su familia. Después de años de búsqueda, finalmente da con Brendan, uno de los hombres enmascarados responsables, quien ahora lleva una vida de redención como sacerdote devoto.

Queremos mostrar al mundo no solo lo que ocurrió, sino por qué ocurrió y cómo nos sigue afectando hoy.

Nuestro Objetivo

Financiación

Necesitamos este financiamiento para pagar las localizaciones, que son vitales para la historia, así como para el reparto y el equipo involucrados. Ya hemos elegido las localizaciones y tenemos una idea clara de los costos. Las siguientes localizaciones son esenciales para el el desarrollo de la historia:

Cementerio (Ya tenemos el permiso del Ayuntamiento municipal)

Estudio de filmación donde planeamos construir un confesionario (£600/día)

Estimamos que necesitaremos aproximadamente £800 para cubrir el costo de las localizaciones.
