Help A Selfless Mom Supporting Her Daughter's Cancer Battle

Today, I am reaching out on behalf of someone who has always given selflessly to others but now finds herself in need of our support.

Dawn Farris Rost, a dedicated special education teacher in one of our inner-city schools, has been a beacon of hope and generosity in our community for years. She is a leader in a number of charity organizations’ events and has tirelessly organized fundraisers for almost 30 years for Wisconsin Children's Hospital, plus WI Facets, Music6s, and other charities, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her compassion knows no bounds, and her impact on countless lives cannot be overstated.

Recently, Dawn received devastating news: her daughter has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer. As any loving mother would, she has set aside everything to care for her child during this difficult time. Due to the nature of her daughter's treatment, Dawn has been unable to work most of the past school year and at her summer jobs, with her daughter facing lower immunity and the complex challenges that come with supporting a child through intensive medical care.

Today, I ask for your help. Dawn needs assistance covering their basic living expenses—rent, groceries, utilities, and mounting medical bills. The financial strain of battling cancer is overwhelming, especially without the ability to work. She has been making it this far only by amassing crushing credit card balances and debts. And as a born “Giver”, she never asks for anyone's help. That’s why we are asking our community on her behalf.
