Hi, this is about our daughter Hannah who is 31 years old and is in real need of a second wheelchair.

Hannah is forever wheelchair bound due to suffering from severe learning and postural difficulties. She has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy (which she has had from birth) and Scoliosis and cannot speak and her sight is unknown. She therefore is completely dependent on us for all of her needs.

Hannah has a moulded seated wheelchair due to her Scoliosis, which she is in for most of the day (other than resting on her bed between times). However, we live in a house where the layout is upside down, so all bedrooms are downstairs with the common family areas upstairs, and it is extremely difficult to get Hannah’s wheelchair upstairs. This means Hannah misses out on being with the family as it is simply too difficult to complete the process daily. So, a second wheelchair would allow her to be upstairs every day and be around family at all times. We have a chair lift to get her upstairs which we had installed on the first day we moved in so that we could bring her upstairs and hoped to get a second wheelchair via the social services to enable her to be with us at all times. However, we have been struggling to get this sorted for over three years now and time just is not a priority for someone like Hannah who requires help now.

Hannah is such a special person, she is like a rose, beautiful, loveable, and a constant outpouring of lovingness to all, it is such an honour to have her in the family.

It is so hard not to have her joining in with the family properly. Much of the day I spend with her downstairs or out in the garden, weather permitting, and only at times when the whole family are here, like Christmas, can we manage to bring her up. We would be so grateful for any support as we are doing our best to save up but feel as Hannah is missing out on so many precious family times.

The total cost of the chair is £ 3,668.40 and any donation would be so much welcomed.
