Hi, my name is Jack-Daniel Rowlands
I’ve been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — I’ve been selected as 1 of only 15 people from thousands of applicants to take part in a 16-day expedition to Everest Base Camp with Mathew Pritchard from dirty sanchez and earths edge.
This isn’t just a trip for me — it represents something much deeper.
A few years ago, my life was heading in a very different direction. I struggled with my mental health, fell into addiction, and spent years around the wrong environment, i want to leave that old life behind. I grew up without parents and made mistakes that led me down a path I never want to return to.
But I’ve worked hard to change.
I also face the challenge with undiagnosed ADHD, which has made everyday life difficult at times. I often struggle with routine and feeling settled, and it’s led to people misunderstanding me. But I’ve come to realise that when I channel that energy into something positive — like travel, challenges, and being outdoors — I thrive. It’s something I’m learning to work with, not against.
many people that know me know that i need this and can vouch I’m a good soul. I just need some direction and i feel this is the perfect opportunity, firstly for my spiritual growth, secondly for networking and being around like minded people that can open up opportunities for me, and thirdly to show people that no matter your background you can still achieve whatever you put your mind to.
I am now clean and as many people know staying clean is the hardest part of addiction . over the past couple of years I’ve pushed myself to rebuild my life — travelling, staying active, and focusing on growth, spirituality, and healing. I’ve found strength through meditation and Buddhism, and I’m determined to become a better person and leave my past behind.
This Everest Base Camp expedition feels like a defining moment in that journey.
It’s a challenge that will push me physically and mentally, surround me with positive people, and help me continue moving forward in life — away from old habits, and towards purpose, discipline, and growth.
I’ve already secured my place with a deposit, but I need to raise £3,500 by August 1st to make this possible.
I am working and doing everything I can on my side, but I won’t be able to reach this amount alone in time.
If you can support me — even a small amount — it would mean more than just helping fund a trip. You’d be helping me continue building a better life and staying on the right path.
If you’re not able to donate, sharing this would also mean the world to me.
The funds will be used to help me pay for the expedition and any gear that i need
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
