Help Bring Paloma Home
My name is Megan Schulz and I would love to share a beautiful story with you all. ❤️
On a recent volunteer trip to Honduras with Young Strength Missions, our team helped build six homes for single-mother families living in heartbreaking conditions. Many people lacked food, clean water, and safe shelter—and the animals suffered just as much.
One dog, a small, gentle soul named Paloma (“pigeon”), attached herself to our group. Locals told us she once belonged to a family, but after the wife passed away, the husband couldn’t afford to feed both himself and Paloma. She’s been surviving on her own ever since.
Despite being severely underweight, covered in fleas, and clearly exhausted, Paloma followed us from site to site. She craved affection, safety, and the tiniest bit of hope. She stole the heart of every volunteer, and leaving her behind knowing her chances of surviving were slim was devastating.
I’m now working with caring people in Honduras to get Paloma the nutrition and vet care she urgently needs—and to bring her to the United States where she can finally have a safe, loving home.
Your donation will go toward:
Vet exams & vaccinations
Flea/tick & heartworm treatment
Food and recovery care
Travel across Honduras
Temporary housing
Her plane ticket to the U.S.
Basic essentials (bed, leash, bowls)
There are many animals in need, but changing one life still matters deeply. Paloma has already shown incredible resilience. Together, we can give her the second chance she deserves.
Thank you for helping us bring her home.
