Hello, my name is Gledys Miranda, my family and I are raising funds to save the life of my sister Maribel Miranda. Last Saturday, May 14, 2022, we received devastating news, we took my sister to the emergency service as she suffered a horrible fall that caused an injury to her lower lip and a bruise on her face. This required an evaluation by neurosurgery, where they informed us that the brain tomography revealed a slow-growing brain tumor (meningioma) as a diagnosis, which reached its maximum expansion causing a vasogenic edema with a deviation from the midline, in addition to suffering facial paralysis and loss of body movement; eventually epileptic seizures occur due to this new condition, in addition to this she has a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus and rheumatoid arthritis.

We also have been struggling with her weight loss for more than a year due to her conditions, but this new diagnosis overwhelms us financially since my sister lives in Venezuela and the costs of treatment and her future operation are very high. Every day we buy the treatment she needs to keep her alive until we raise the necessary funds to cover the operation where the tumor will be removed, but in a few days the resources have been exhausted since apart from the treatment they also have to perform almost daily laboratory tests and pay for medical consultations.

My sister has always been the life of the party, the one who dances until the party is over, the one who enjoys sharing with her family and always has a joke at hand to make us all laugh. Please, help us to give her a second chance, it will be so profoundly appreciated.

Hola me llamo Gledys Miranda, mi familia y yo estamos recaudando fondos para salvar la vida de mi hermana Maribel Miranda. El pasado sábado 14 de mayo de 2022, recibimos una noticia devastadora, llevamos a mi hermana al servicio de emergencia ya que sufrió una aparatosa caída que ocasionó una lesión en el labio inferior y un hematoma en la cara, esto ameritó una evaluación por neurocirugía, en donde nos informaron que la tomografía cerebral arrojó como diagnóstico un tumor cerebral (meningioma), de lento crecimiento el cual llegó a su máxima expansión provocando un edema vasogénico con desviación de la línea media además sufrió parálisis facial y perdida de movimiento corporal, eventualmente le sobrevienen crisis epilépticas debido a esta nueva condición, aunado a esto tiene antecedente de diabetes mellitus tipo 2 y artritis reumatoide.

Tenemos más de un año luchando con su pérdida de peso debido a la diabetes tipo 2 y otras condiciones debido a la artritis reumatoide, pero este nuevo diagnóstico nos supera económicamente ya que mi hermana vive en Venezuela y los costos del tratamiento y su futura operación son muy elevados. Diariamente compramos el tratamiento que necesita para mantenerla con vida hasta que recaudemos los fondos necesarios para cubrir la operación en donde se le extraerá el tumor, pero los recursos en pocos días se han ido agotando ya que aparte del tratamiento también se le tienen que realizar casi a diario exámenes de laboratorio y pagar las consultas médicas.

Mi hermana siempre ha sido el alma de la fiesta, la que baila hasta que la fiesta se acabe, la que disfruta compartir con su familia y siempre tiene un chiste a la mano para hacernos reír a todos,
