I can say with certainty that anyone who has ever met my dad, Carlos Perez, has been left with an everlasting impression. His warm smile and contagious laughter are unforgettable. If you have been fortunate enough to have spent time with my dad then you know he’s a jokester, foodie, dancer and family man.
As his family, we are asking for your help. My dad is fighting an extremely severe liver disease. Over the past two weeks, we have gone from saying our final goodbyes to being overwhelmed with hope because my dad has slowly fought to heal himself with the help of a passionately skilled medical staff. By the grace of God, he may be blessed to receive a kidney and liver transplant. This starts a long road to recovery ahead of us.
My dad lives in Tijuana, MX but will require 24/7 care in San Diego, CA, which means we will need to find him an apartment to stay in for a minimum of 2 months and hire an around the clock caregiver. These 2 months are critical to his recovery and they will require the most intensive care.
This GoFundMe account will be used to pay his room & board in the San Diego area, fund his around the clock medical care, travel expenses to and from his doctor appointments (approximately 3x’s/week) & travel expenses for our family to help ensure that my dad is well taken care of and surrounded with love and support.
