A Second 4K WebCam for Whale Watching & More!

Aloha everyone!

After our first successful fundraiser to upgrade the Hawaii Humpback Whale webcam to the state of Hawaii's first 4K 24/7 live stream and another successful fundraiser to put the world's first 4K webcam in front of an erupting volcano , we are ready for the next project!

Our Objectives:

1. Set up a second location to stream the Hawaii Humpback Whale Sanctuary waters in 4K. COMPLETE! This camera has been setup on the North Shore of Oahu in October 2023 and can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3I7tDJwmZ0

2. Upgrade the existing 4K webcam to the latest 4K camera technology that will improve zooming capabilities by 250%, improve color and clarity due to a 27% increase in chip size. The camera comes with laser focus technology to ensure a crisp image as much as possible. There might be a few other surprises with this camera, we'll just have to wait and see!

We want to make the experience of watching humpbacks, sunsets, and other ocean activities in beautiful Hawaii as close as possible to being there in person! That's why the focus is on bringing the best technology and views to you!

Funds allocation:

1. Camera $3400

2. Hardware for camera (mount, POE power etc.) approx $500

3. Streaming-related software: $800

3. Installation costs: $500

4. Miscellaneous: $300

Total: $5500 USD

Why are we doing this?

This Gofundme campaign furthers afarTV's mission to make it possible for people to experience the beauty and excitement of the natural world from afar, without the environmental impact from travel. A big Mahalo for helping us fulfill this mission!
