A Season of Trials: Help the Marshall Family Overcome

Hi, we’re the Marshall family—a loving, hardworking family of five, soon to be six. We never imagined we’d be in a position to ask for help, but 2025 has brought a series of unexpected challenges that have stretched us emotionally, mentally, and financially.

It all started with the surprise news that we are expecting baby #4—an unexpected but joyful blessing. Shortly after, our three-year-old was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a life-changing event that has required us to learn how to manage her condition. James and I have had to take time off work to learn how to care for her and navigate the unexpected medical expenses that come with her diagnosis.

Just as we were adjusting to this new reality, another unimaginable challenge hit—our son suffered a severe skiing accident, He had to be airlifted to the Sick Kids Hospital. He broke two bones in his back and fracturing his right shoulder. He also torn ligaments in his neck.

His expected recovery time with proper physiotherapy is like 3months or more. Our focus shifted once again to his recovery and care.

With so many life-altering events happening in such a short time (and only three months into the year), our family has been hit hard in every way. Between medical costs, time off work, and the emotional weight of these challenges, we are reaching out for support.

We are asking for support to help cover:

• Medical expenses and supplies for our daughter’s diabetes care

• Recovery costs and treatments for our son’s injuries estimated to be about three months or more

• Living expenses while we take time off to focus on our family’s health and well-being

Any additional support will go toward completing our new home and ensuring stability for our children’s future.
