Hi, my name is Cathleen. I am writing this on behalf of my husband Jack, to our grandkiddos, A.K.A. “Evil Evil Grandpa of the one tooth “.
As some of you may know, he has been battling several medical issues over the last ten years. The list includes:
3 stints in his heart
Gall bladder removal
Kidney stone removal
7 Various eye surgeries including both lenses being replaced.
All front teeth with a bridge broke, 8 teeth in total
Type 2 Diabetes
Most notably, he has had two strokes (and a probable third). The aftermath of these left the entire right side of his body numb. I can tell you at the tip of his nose he can feel the left side but not the right side. This has affected his ability to walk. He now walks with a walking stick. He also fights for control of the right side of his body including uncontrollable spasms. This added to his issues with balance as the result of a head-on car collision. He can easily be thrown into vertigo when someone bumps into him. It is now a regular habit to search for an electric cart/ scooter whenever we go out. Often one is not available, and in many places, we have to rent a scooter for several days.
We have decided the best thing would be to buy a scooter so he can still do those things we want and/or need to do to have a decent quality of life.
We are looking to fund a cart/ scooter and cover cart, taxes, and accessories to transport the scooter.
Any amount will help and if you are unable to give, please consider sharing this where you can.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and prayers.
