Hi, Everyone. With your help I would like to raise funds for "Peru -- Luz de Esperanza", where in May/June I will spend two weeks as teacher and whatever-is-needed volunteer. Luz de Esperanza (https://peru-luz-de-esperanza.mailchimpsites.com/) is a school located in a rural village (Ahuac) in the Peruvian Andes and offers classes to local children to expand their education with English and other learnings to provide them wider horizons. I have never been there, but my brother-in-law Pierre has, many times, doing admirable work, and the school is the real thing. Pierre will be there as well on my first trip.

The school was founded several years ago by a local family (Elizabeth and Nilton), who have operated it since. They are a non-profit requiring continuous help in the form of volunteers and financial support to cover operational costs. I can't wait to volunteer for them.

I am entirely paying for my own expenses. All the donations received, every penny, will go to the school itself. You have my word on that. I have nothing better to offer than this personal assurance.

The funds will be entrusted to Elizabeth and Nilton to use based on the needs of the school: teaching materials (books, arts and crafts, etc.), building maintenance projects, etc. Volunteers at Luz de Esperanza are asked to roll up their sleeves and do whatever helps.

I must make this a "US" GoFundMe, since Peru is not a supported country by GoFundMe. So be it. At the completion of this funding I will wire the funds to Luz de Esperanza via Western Union.
