Hello Reader, The No White Saviors in Collaboration with Abayuuti Climate Action Network, shares this Story of..

THE GREED FOR MINERALS

Kasese District, located in the Western region of Uganda, lies along the border with Congo. Once a lush and thriving area, it has faced catastrophic environmental damage. In the 1950s, Canadian mining companies Frosbisher Limited and Ventures Limited, through a joint venture named Kilembe Mines, extracted over 4 million tonnes of Copper and Cobalt. This unplanned mining left behind heavy debris, disrupted land topography and blocked water channels that once drained the high peaks of this mountainous region, known as the “Mountains of the Moon (Mountain Rwenzori).”

Today, the region (Kasese) have become a source of relentless floods and landslides from Rivers that can’t accommodate the High Volumes of water flowing through silted Rivers thus bursting their banks and devastating the livelihoods of the indigenous Bakonzo and Bamba communities. Hundreds so far have lost their lives, and countless families now live in camps for internally displaced people (IDPs), with little to no resources to rebuild their lives.

Our Mission
In collaboration with Abayuuti Climate Action Network, No White Saviors is working to provide hope and a future for the children of these displaced communities. We aim to add a school block in MUHOKYA INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLES CAMP, for kids who have been promoted from the camp kindergarten (Little Angels Day Care and Kindergarten) to the Primary School level, with out this block the kids from Kindergarten won’t have any further Education in 2025

This goal serves to save the next generation by offering free education at the primary level to children whose parents have been left hopeless and unable to afford schooling after complete destruction of Homes, Gardens, Roads and Hospitals in the region and all their sources of income.

This initiative is a vital step toward restoring dignity and opportunity for these children while we continue advocating for Accountability and Reparations from the Canadian companies responsible for this disaster.

This as well aligns with the No White Saviors 2025 agenda of Education and Supporting Individuals, Organisations and Communities that locally fight for the Rights of Indigenous People who have been heavily impacted by Western Greed for resources and Supremacy that is retarding the Continental progress and abusing the Environmental Justice

We call on Individuals, change makers, Philanthropists, Educators and Organisations to stand with the displaced families of Kasese, restoring hope, and advocating for Environmental justice

Part of this money goes to tailoring, a machine costs 200 dollars which helps in sewing clothes for children and equip women and girls with skills to generate income to run the daily needs of the school

With all our feasts Combined, kindly Donate and Share to rise awareness and help us reach our goal.
