Access to knowledge for children: Let's Build a Classroom

My name is Nodir. I live in a small village near the Abdurahmoni Jomi district in Tajikistan — a quiet place surrounded by hills and dusty roads.
There are no supermarkets here, no buses, no internet. But we have children — almost 40 students who walk 3 to 5 kilometers every day just to attend school in a neighboring village.
In winter, they freeze. In spring, they walk through mud. In autumn, it’s already dark when they return home. Some of the younger kids give up and drop out. But they have eyes full of curiosity and questions no one is around to answer.
So together with other villagers, we decided: we will build our own school — right here in our village. A small one. Built with our own hands. Just two rooms: one for elementary grades, and one for lessons in math, Tajik, and Russian. If we can, we’ll add a small computer corner with 5 basic computers, so our kids can see Google at least once in their lives — not just the TV.
The new school year begins in September, and we have only 3 months left. That’s our deadline — and our hope.
We’ve gathered volunteers who are ready to help build for free. We have local builders. Now we need the most important part: funding for materials — cement, roofing, windows, insulation, desks, a chalkboard — and 5 used computers for the kids.
To make this happen, we need $8,000. That’s the price of a new iPhone — but if 800 people give $10, we can build a school.
We’re not asking for ourselves. We’re asking for the children — so they don’t have to lose their childhoods walking across fields just to learn.
If you believe education can change a life — please help us before September comes.
