Hi, my name is Morgan. Writing this is incredibly hard, but I am doing so because I am in a situation I cannot escape without help.

I am currently trying to leave a domestic violence situation. Staying is no longer safe for my emotional or physical well-being. I am also a mother, and my priority is making sure I can protect and take care of myself and my young daughter as we move toward safety and stability.

Leaving requires legal support that I simply cannot afford on my own. I feel trapped. I’ve done everything I can to survive quietly, plan carefully, and protect us — but without a lawyer, I cannot take the steps needed to safely get out. The legal process is overwhelming, and the cost of an attorney is the biggest barrier standing between us and freedom.

I am asking for help to cover:

• An attorney retainer

• Legal fees required to protect myself and my child

• Costs associated with safely separating and rebuilding
