My name is Day and I am a DV survivor. You can find my story on TikTok @dayinthelight2. I was in a very toxic marriage that involved alcohol abuse, physical abuse, and dishonesty. I am afraid that if I stay where I am, myself or my kids won’t be as lucky to get out next time. I work, but I don’t have enough funds to move out safely and reliably. I don’t want to move into a shelter because I want things to seem as normal as possible to my kids. A shelter would be an obvious sign that something is wrong.

I really need help raising money for a reliable car. That’s mainly what I need as a stepping stone to get where I need to be. Having a reliable car opens the door for so many opportunities for me. It secures my current job and gives me a pathway to get a second job or DoorDash to make extra money. I don’t like asking for help without earning it, but I am learning to swallow my pride and allow God to use others to help me. Any donation would be such a blessing. I need about $3k to get a car because of my credit situation, so that’s the goal. Again, I am saving money on my own, but it would take me months to save that much with all the other financial things I’m responsible for.
