On September 16, 2025 our lives changed in a way we never could have imagined. A sudden, accidental fire broke out in our home. Within minutes, everything we had built and gathered over time was swallowed by smoke and flames. It all happened so fast—we didn’t even have time to process what was going on before we realized our house, our belongings, and our sense of safety were slipping away.
One of the hardest parts was that our pets were trapped inside. We had four cats and two birds in the house at the time of the fire. Thanks to the incredible bravery and quick action of the firefighters, all four cats were rescued and given oxygen on the scene to help them recover from smoke inhalation. Sadly, we lost one of our birds to the smoke, a heartbreaking loss that we will always carry with us.
The fire left behind devastation. We lost between 50–70% of our personal belongings—furniture, food, clothes, supplies, and the little things that made our house a home. Right now, we are left with uncertainty and the challenge of figuring out where to go from here.
We are reaching out for help to raise at least $2,000 to put toward a down payment on a safe place to stay and begin rebuilding our lives. Every single donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference to us during this time. Anything you give will go directly toward helping us secure shelter, replace essential items, and start over after this devastating event.
We are deeply grateful for any support—whether through donations, sharing our story, or simply keeping us in your thoughts. Thank you for helping us find hope in the middle of such a difficult time.
