My name is Rachel Victoria, former caseworker for the Rivas Alvaro family. This family of 5 females are refugees from Colombia that were resettled in Salt Lake City in January of 2024. Since their arrival into the country, the family has struggled to sustain themselves with very little support or resources to protect them from homelessness. After some rather extenuating circumstances leading to their eviction from their original home, Jeimmy (35) and her daughters are struggling to get back on their feet. I am hoping to raise $3,000 that will go towards the deposit, first and last month’s rent for a safe home I have found for them in American Fork, Utah. The restaurant is only minutes from the home and will save them a lot of money in travel expenses. Jeimmy is a hard working single mother of 3 who also adopted her 17 year old niece, Sofia. I have worked with Jeimmy every step of the way and can vouch for her determination to make this opportunity worth everything for each of her beautiful daughters, Valeria (11), Victoria (10) and Salome (6). Jeimmy and Sofia are currently employed at a restaurant in American Fork part time while Jeimmy awaits more hours with the coming tourist season. These 5 women have changed my life and I am determined to help them get back on track. Being a refugee is not easy, this family has struggled tremendously but these girls deserve the very best life here in Utah. Please help me help this family move into their new home for the holidays. 100% of donations will go directly to the landlord for Jeimmy and her family's new home. Thank you so much for your generosity <3
