For 25 years, A Safe Haven for Newborns has saved babies from abandonment and supported women in crisis. Infant abandonment affects all backgrounds and is driven by isolation and fear. Without help, both mother and child face consequences. A Safe Haven for Newborns provides free, confidential support through a 24/7 multilingual helpline, education, and direct assistance. We help girls and women ages 13 to 45 with counseling, shelter placement, baby items, transportation, temporary housing, and safe newborn surrender. Our impact lasts beyond birth. Many babies we helped save are now thriving adults, including Milagros, who works at a counseling agency for individuals with special needs, and Gloria Hope, a college graduate. Founded in memory of Gloria Silverio, the organization has saved 436 newborn lives and helped more than 6,000 women. Now at full capacity, the Bricks of Hope Capital Campaign will build a permanent home in South Florida to continue saving lives.
