My name is Kaneisha, and I am reaching out for help to keep my son safe at home. My son has complex medical needs, and every night brings new challenges and worries. He often turns off his humidifier, forgets he’s connected to his g-tube and pulls it out, and sometimes tries to leave the house. These behaviors put him at serious risk, and as a parent, I am desperate to find a solution that will protect him and give him a secure place to sleep.

Despite contacting his doctor multiple times and sharing my concerns, I haven’t been able to get the help we need. At our last appointment, the doctor dismissed my worries and wouldn’t even submit the paperwork to Medicaid for a safe bed. I’ve tried everything I can think of, including reaching out to a supply company in Alabama that is willing to help with the paperwork, but without the doctor’s support, we can’t get approval. Now, we are left to cover the cost ourselves, and it feels overwhelming.
