A Run In Derry's Memory

Hi everyone, my name is Susan Peavoy and I am Principal of Wandesforde National School in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. Some of you that know me, know that I love to run. In June 2024, I am running from my house in Portlaoise to my school in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny (27km) in memory of Derry Neale. Derry was a Dad from our school, who passed away in October 2023 from pancreatic cancer. I had the honour and privilege of teaching all of Derry's 5 children and his wife Jackie, is a close friend of our family and our school to this day. Derry was always the supportive Dad who helped out in any way that he could and we miss his bubbly, happy outlook on life. Having spoken to Jackie, I wish to raise funds for the Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team who were so good to Derry and the family in his final days. Some of the funds will also be given to our school which Derry held in high regard. Thank you in advance for your support, I appreciate every donation so much and look forward to the challenge that lies ahead of me in June. I hope members of the school community, Jackie and her children Scott, Rebecca, Abbey, Simon and Sam will be present as I come into the school grounds in June, in Derry's memory.
