We are a group of church ladies in Ventura County, trying to help a woman who has escaped a dangerous family situation and is working to get a job and housing so she can live on her own. We are trying to help her pay for lodging as she works with the local agencies to obtain more permanent housing. Local women’s shelters are full or backlogged right now because the need is so great. Previous to this, she has been camping in the parks, which is both dangerous and illegal. She is a bright and functional and hard-working human being who just needs a roof over her head and a hot shower each day for the next few weeks.
