Hi, my name is Steve Tighe; I am the youngest son of local legend and British Empire and Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist, Roger Tighe.
As many of you will know, my dad had been battling Alzheimers for almost 12 years, and unfortunately, that battle ended on 1st July 2022 when he eventually passed away.
My dad will always be remembered as a hard man, yet a gentleman who would do anything to help anyone.
Those who met him were left with a lasting impression of a charismatic old-school family man... with many a story to tell about a life lived to its fullest.
I, like my father, have raised a lot of money for various charities over the years and aim to honor his memory by hitting a colossal £20,000 target so that we may have a memorial commissioned to pay tribute to a local hero. He boxed for his country and helped hundreds of people to better themselves over the years.
After the memorial, the remainder of monies raised goes directly to the Alzheimers Society so we can help fight back against this devasting disease that has and still is affecting many families.
I have a full year of events planned which our family would love as many people as possible to get involved with by either sponsoring, taking part, or helping to organise, as some of these events will be pretty challenging :-)
This list will get bigger. However, it all starts with the first event today!
06/08/22 - 15:30 Skydive!
Please give anything you can... Thank you!
