Hi, my name is Lisa.
Over the past year, I’ve gone through a period of significant personal and financial upheaval while trying to rebuild my life and create something stable for myself.
At 57, I recently came to understand a lifelong pattern in my family dynamic known as Family Scapegoat Abuse (FSA). Learning this brought clarity, but it also disrupted my emotional and financial stability in ways I didn’t anticipate.
Family Scapegoat Abuse is a dynamic where one person is repeatedly labeled “the problem,” blamed for conflict, and carries the emotional weight of the family system. For decades, I believed I was simply too sensitive or “the bad one.” Researching this helped me understand my patterns, including dissociation, and how I learned to survive by staying agreeable and positive.
At the same time, I am working to rebuild from the ground up after going 'no contact' with my family. I am actively working and doing everything I can to move forward, but recent setbacks have made it difficult to stay ahead financially.
Funds raised will go toward:
-catching up on high-interest debt
-securing reliable transportation
-creating enough stability to maintain consistent work
My goal is not long-term support. I’m trying to create a reset, just enough breathing room to get back on my feet and rebuild independently.
I am also in the process of building a social media platform to share my story and support others who have lived through similar experiences.
If you found this while searching for Family Scapegoat Abuse, please know you are not alone.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support.
Here is my story:
