Donation protected
Hi, This is Jasmine Bridges, former student of Ms. Breckenridge’s. I and a few other students are organizing this retirement gift is for Ms. Breckenridge.
(SHHHHH PLEASE KEEP IT A SECRET FROM HER!)

On January 24th, After 28 incredible years at Johns Hopkins University and thousands of students who have been blessed by her support to accomplish our dreams MS. ADRIENE BRECKENRIDGE is retiring!!

So many students are successful in our careers and spiritual walks as a direct result of Ms. Breckenridge’s advice, care and advocacy! Doctors, engineers, diplomats, therapists, lawyers, pastors and everything in between…we all can directly tie our success to Ms. Breckenridge’s incredible support!

This retirement gift serves as a token of our love and appreciation for her after pouring so much into each student and to the Johns Hopkins Community.

Please feel free to bless her monetarily. However of course there is no pressure to give.

Many do not know Ms. Breckenridge was the only Black academic advisor at Hopkins for nearly 25 years! (I just learned this).
She also founded and the led the Minority Pre-Health Conference for over a decade. This conference exposed so many students to medical and health careers and became a foundation for thousands of aspiring doctors and health care professionals.

Just a few of Ms. Breckenridge’s incredible contributions are below.
  • Founder and Advisor: Multi-Cultural Student Affairs (25 yrs), fostering diversity and inclusion on campus.
  • Founder & Chair of the Minority Pre-Health conference (11 yrs). Adriene's visionary leadership extended to the founding and chairing of the Minority Pre-Health conference, emphasizing diversity in healthcare.
  • Beloved College Community Fellowship (23 yrs) In 1997 Adriene initiated the Beloved College Community Fellowship, evolving it from a humble Bible Study with six students. Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of the Beloved Community, the fellowship addressed spiritual needs and grew to include bi-weekly and then weekly Sunday worship services. The fellowship expanded its outreach through initiatives like the Annual Easter Dinner, a homeless ministry, and "Drive By Servings."
  • Hopkins Organization for Pre-health Education (H.O.P.E.) - Founder & Advisor (19 yrs). Adriene established H.O.P.E., guiding aspiring healthcare professionals for almost two decades.
  • Project Prevent for 19 years. As the Founder and Advisor of Project Prevent, Dr. Adriene played a pivotal role in promoting health education and prevention.

Adriene Breckenridge was also an Advisor/Co-Advisor for the JHU Gospel Choir and Dunbar Baldwin Hugh’s Theater Troop (2004-present)

Also, she was or continues to be a member of
• Black Faculty & Staff Association
• Campus Ministry’s Advisory Board
An ordained Minister
• Greek Life
• Dunbar Hopkins Health Partnership
• Baltimore Scholars
• Center for Africana Studies
And so much more.

Please join me in contributing to a retirement and thank you gift for her and wishing her well in her next season of life!

Warmly,
Jasmine
