My father passed away on January 9, and losing him has been one of the most painful experiences of our lives. His journey was not an easy one. In 2021, he was diagnosed with amyloidosis, a rare and serious illness. Despite this, my dad worked tirelessly to improve his health and fought every day to see an uphill climb. His strength and determination never wavered. He went into remission in 2024, and we were hopeful it would mark a point on an upward trajectory for his health. Things were looking up around the holidays, and we truly were caught off guard by the unexpected news.

My father was a proud veteran and served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Alaska during active duty. He was also a devoted father of two children who loved him deeply.

Anyone who knew my dad knew his passions. He had a true love for music and spent his spare time DJing before his illness. He had an incredible green thumb, took pride in his plants, and was an amazing cook who loved sharing food with those he cared about. He was a big fan of basketball and football, always enjoying the game and the connection it brought.

More than anything, my dad was my best friend. He was the person I went to for life advice, daily conversations, and reassurance. He was the one I knew I could always rely on—whether it was answering my call or checking in just to make sure I was okay. Life feels incredibly dull and empty without him here.

At this time, my brother and I are facing unexpected financial challenges related to funeral and memorial expenses. We are asking for help to give our father the respectful service and celebration of life he truly deserves.
