My name is Jennifer. I'm posting because I need some help with rent and bills.

I was laid off at the start of the pandemic lockdowns in March 2020. I was fine until the Federal Covid unemployment assistance ended in September 2021. Since September, I've had little to no income and whatever saving I'd managed to set aside was quickly used.

Throughout this time, I applied for jobs, I’ve had several interviews but wasn’t hired.

I applied for the rent relief program at the end of September 2021. I requested help paying my rent starting in October. Today, March 3rd, I found out that my request was approved through February 2022. This news is exceptional! I've been so stressed and worried while in limbo waiting for the decision.

But March wasn’t included in the funds and I don't have money to pay March rent. I am at risk for eviction.

I haven't been able to pay my phone bill and was protected from cut-off through some California Covid protections. Those protections have expired, and my account is due in full. I’ve done what I can to set up payment plans with other bills but there are a few that wasn’t possible with. 

Another piece of good news is that I went to a job fair on March 2nd. I was offered a job. I tentatively start March 9th. This means I'm moving towards more stability.
